Well, things have certainly been overwhelming here since just before Christmas! I would love to say that it is all good news. I would love to believe when I am told that God does not give you more than you can handle. Either God has a very high opinion of me, or I have a low one of myself. It seems like as soon as one crisis or problem is averted the next one pops up. Actually, I think they have been overlapping. Today, I made time to come up for air!
Today seems like a good time to make at least myself smile a little. You all know about my battles with the dragon!! The large and dangerous technology dragon gets me as often as he can. Sometimes it is with a little snafu in my spelling that sends a message totally unlike everything I meant. Sometimes it is that I just cannot turn on my tablet and continue my rounds of Free Cell. Sometimes it is that my beautiful, compassionate children take great delight in harassing me over my dragon woes. At any rate, sometimes you get that beautiful moment when the tables are turned and their is some sweet justice and/or revenge. Recently we were regaled with stories of Calvin's home. Apparently, he has become quite modern and technological. He has dots and Alexa all over his house. He can turn lights on and off, adjust the television, and I am sure flush the toilet if need be. P3 had been wanting a Roomba for quite a while and I guess they even got one of those. I guess you can set these technological wonders to vacuum your home at various times. Around my house it would be running constantly, but that is another story. I also wonder how it knows how to keep from falling down the stairs. So, they have a Roomba and at certain times during the day it leaves its docking station and roams around the house vaccuuming up messes. I don't know who is making these messes when no one is home but the dogs, but okay. My son and his wife came home recently to find brown streaks all over their carpet. I would immediately assume that something was wrong. (and I don't need Alexa to tell me that!). Lo and behold, the Roomba left its station to do its job. Unfortunately, it tried to clean up or just ran over some fresh dog feces, which got all mashed into the treads of the wheels and brushes and was dragged throughout the house leaving brown streaks! Now that is funnier than my misspellings!! I guess my son spent a considerable amount of time separating said dog feces from the Roomba which is supposed to be a technological time and work saver. I think he would have saved more time just vaccuuming the carpet himself! As for me, I will keep my old fashioned ways which includes talking to live people, using my canister vacuum, and flushing my own toilet! May God grant you a smile this week. Remember to be thankful for all you have been given, even the ability to do things for yourself!
