SUPER SON

Congratulations Super Son!!!!  Today, he receives his nursing pin and joins the ranks of those who give unselfishly day after day to our patients.  I am so proud of the hard work he has put in to achieve this.  Tomorrow, he graduates from the university.  Don't worry, I am not going to get all mushy.  I would like to think I have had a little to do with his success, but honestly, I have never seen anyone work as hard as him.!

The hard work doesn't just happen in school.  He does this all the time!  Sometimes it is because he knows I am upset with him.  Poor guy hasn't figured out that when I am upset, you should just keep your distance from me.  He goes all overboard and gets up at 6:00 in the morning to mow the lawn.  Does anyone want to hear a lawn mower at 6:00 am?  Not me, it only makes me more upset!  But you have to love the guy for trying. 

He also manages to volunteer for work when the other guys are around and are trying to lay low so that they don't have to do chores.  On those days, he bounds out of the house and actually enjoys chopping and piling wood.  "Doc" loves it, the other guys...well now you know why he has been dubbed Super Son. 

He is the household technology guy (when "the Ninja" is unavailable).  We can be having a conversation about a movie and he whips out his phone and looks up every detail that we have been discussing.   The boy cannot walk across the street without the GPS on his phone.  I mean that literally.   I am actually quite surprised that he can get from his bedroom to the kitchen without GPS!  We will ship him off on his own tomorrow for his ceremony.  I am confident that he will use his GPS like Hansel and Gretel used bread crumbs.  We will arrive in time for the festivities and watch with great pride as the wonderful addition to our family accepts his nursing pin and moves on with his life and career.
